And we are back! Summer really had me living in easy slip-dresses (thanks to my bestie Catherine for loaning me this Mayle sample sale find, below is me standing in for talent on a stroller shoot). This one is my go-to for shoots.
I am also obsessed with the Maryam Nassir Zadeh x J.Crew collab which also had a great slip dress and such cute swim. I got the drop-waist dress which usually doesn’t work for me but this one was special! Terrible photo below!
It feels like J.Crew is back and having a moment. I have been living in this slip skirt! I even wore it to the Sphere for Dead and Co. with my vintage Fare Thee Well shirt. Me with my partner in crime Rotter & Friends.
While wearing the aforementioned Mayle slip dress to my favorite NYC institution the Odeon; I noticed the hostess was wearing a special 1980’s puff sleeve dress by Leslie Lucks. It was on my mind the next day in Beacons Closet where me and Catherine not only only found these Margiela Replica sneakers for $35 (spoiler alert they are not comfortable so I might resell) but we also found a LESLIE LUCKS jacket that came home with me. There are some real gems on ebay.
Its still hot in LA and I have been LIVING in this nightgown from Bliss & Mischief. Its the perfect mix of Eileen West (too mumsy) and Hillhouse Home (too put-together).
Stay tuned for my Portugal thrift finds and the coolest kids vintage store in Brooklyn!
Dear Alison,
I am on the hunt for a good Pilates Group Class shoe!
Now that I’ve moved closer to Morph, as the girlies say, (on Hillhurst) I get to walk to class! Which means I want something that feels good on the feet — not just a commuting/car shoe (lol, so LA!)
I’m envious of the Birkenstock wearers but my feet slip around in those no matter how tight I cinch the straps.
I don’t think I’m ready for a puffy cloud athletic “slide” which I see tons of on the floor of class.
The only criteria I have is I want a slip on — no reaching down to fiddle with a sling-back or laces. I’m clog-curious, but sometimes the wooden sole makes me feel like I’m on a teeter totter. A comfy ballet flat is an option — but do those exist? Think hard pavement!
I recently googled “walkable slip on sandals for women” and got a lot of shoes my Aunt wears post-foot surgery. Are any of those ugly-cute? Help! My eye sees only orthopedics.
Your Morph Pal,
ET
